Every day in the UK families are being charged up to ten times the going rate by rogue locksmiths.
Exploiting people when they are at their most vulnerable and many taking advantage of stressful situations. They will often quote unrealistic call out times, and unfortunately fake 5 star reviews.
You will also see low call out rates advertising on Google too, these are again also unrealistic and often used as bait.
The way advertising is sold on search engines allows rogue locksmiths to bid, auction style, and put-up the price of pay per click, this means that the companies that exploit people, often dominate those searches.
This isn’t just UK problem other countries are having to deal with these issues too.
our objective is to create
– Increased checks so the public can see who the good guys are.
– A campaign to make the public aware of the risk.

Recently Mark Santi of Certified Locksmith and Security had a meeting with South Derbyshire MP Samantha Niblett (https://www.facebook.com/SamanthaNiblettLabour) to discuss the issues for her constituents. It was a positive and frank discussion; Samantha has expressed her concerns on the matter.
“A fascinating conversation I had was around dodgy locksmiths’ potential to rip people off by not needing to be DBS checked, and being able to appear high up in Google search results for emergency locksmith services but actually delivering substandard results in person. Thanks to Mark from Certified Locksmiths and Security for telling me about his ambition to give people a safe place to go to find a trusted locksmith.”
